June 9th 2005 - SOW finally drops Tribes Vengeance
|
Due to the further shrinking TV community and first of all the rapidly decreasing number of teams in TWL (and all other ladders), SOW will end its engagement in TV and drop from all ladders. The popular Sword of the Wolf TV server will remain running, until ressources are needed elsewhere. We had an awesome time in Tribes Vengeance, like we also had in Tribes 2 and Tribes 1, where SOW's origins are. If there ever should be a Tribes 4, SOW will be there ... :-)
SOW will now fully focus on the upcoming Battlefield 2.

|
****SOW is LOOKING FOR SKILLE GAMERS FOR BF2 COMP> PLAY****
-If your interested please go to our recruiting page!
Ok, now that I got that out of the way =)
The long awaited follow-up in the Battlefield series is less than a month from release. From what I have heard it should be shipping out to the masses on Tuesday June 21, 2005.
Battlefield 2, from EA Games, will allows players to take on one of the three major military powerhouses of the world: United States, China ,and recently created Middle East Coalition. The game will also have new options such as Commander Mode where you can control the troops or you can be one of the team members on the front line duking it out. Online features allow players to have rankings, unlock new weapons, medals and even unlock rewards.
Incase there are any doubts about your rig.....these are the current system requirments for the game!
-1.5 Ghz CPU
-512 Megabytes of RAM
-128 MB video card (requires support for 1.4 shaders)
-16x CD-ROM drive
-Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card
-4 GB free hard drive space
-MS compatible mouse
-Keyboard
-Windows XP
I havent been so excited for a single game since my dad brought home pitfall for my ATARI!

May 11th 2005 - Tribes: TWL mappack on the SOW server
|
TWL released the first competition mappack for Tribes Vengeance. Finally we can enjoy some custom maps in competition. Further hopes are high, that the community also will accept these TWL maps and they will be played on public servers, too.
The new maps are on the SOW server and will be downloaded via in-game redirect autodownload with your full bandwidth speed. The best way is of course installing the full mappack from TWL:

Well, it would seem that Vivendi has abandoned the Tribes community. Hopefully it will hold together since this is such a fun game even though it still has alot of bugs....still has beta dedicated servers....and no customer support what so ever!
Sword of the Wolf will continue to compete on the Vengeance 10vs10CTF ladder over at TWL!
On a happier note! BF2 seems as if it will have a release date sometime in June and SOW will be jumping all over it! So start mowing those lawns boys and girls, cuz if your like me....not only do you need to purchase the game....but it looks like a new vid card as well! "Ouchie!" But the game looks sweet as hell and extremely fun.

Well we’re almost two months into 2005 already and Sword of the Wolf is going strong into March with all our gaming engines on full throttle! [SOW] is currently shooting for Rung 5 on the Team Warfare (TWL) Battlefield Vietnam 5 vs 5 Infantry ladder…so sing up if you already haven’t done so! Sword of the Wolf will also be putting their hat in the ring for the Battlefield: Vietnam - 8 vs. 8 Conquest and 8man Fall 2004 League. Good luck to everyone who will be taking part!
Things are also starting to pick up for the Sword of the Wolf Tribes Vengeance team who just finished defending their 13 slot against Smile of the Pheonix. [SOW] is still sitting at 13 after a 2 - 0 victory over [smile] for the win which took place on February 13th. Lets see if we can do it again against Armored Division (Cobra) this Sunday night!
***Sword of the Wolf is currently recruiting skilled players for both Battlefield Vietnam and Tribes Vengeance in all positions! If your interested please take some time and fill out the recruit form which you can find to the left. [SOW] will usually respond to you within 24 hours!***

July 21st 2004 - New game New Team
|
Sword of the Wolf has finally embarked on developing its Battlefield Vietnam team. We have some new faces in the group... albeit some uglier than others... so please everyone welcome 2Ply and Gary Coleman.
Since restructuring left us a little bare, we decided to reshape from the ground up... and that means a little OGL to get some of our newer players familiar with the grind. Tonight was our first OGL match vs Covert Special Forces. The maps were Hue and Landing Zone Albany. Under OGL rules, you only get to play one side of each map, so unless you don't want to drag it to a third, it's best you win in 2.
Unwilling to play a third round, our new team played very well together. Despite a few good pushes from CSF, all our guys remained calm and focused and we took them in 2. I forsee good things from this team and a rapid rise to CAL
SOW wishes to thank CSF for gg'z and great sportsmanship tonight. Well done fellas.
In other BF news, team KC|W has begun season 6 of CAL. The Wolf Pack made an impressive showing last season making the 12v12 Finals match. Although we lost to x[clan], we managed to keep the first two rounds close and drag it to a third. Great games x, a well deserved championship. Not to be outdone, the KC|W TWL mini-ladder teams are doing well also. The 5v5 team took rung #1 a couple weeks ago, and our 2v2 tank team, led by the mighty Shalafi is currently at rung #3... soon to be moving up.
Lord Hump has returned! While we went through some down time, a few Vietnam guys still craved the taste of CAL... without the calories of 1942... thus, a couple guys hooked up to play with our friends hk|. HellsKatz have always been a strong clan, and while we are happy to see our guys have fun, we are also glad he's back full time.
